About Hosting.ca

A true Canadian company, hosting.ca was started by a group of web developers in 1997 when we decided that there were not enough companies who knew how to do web hosting properly. So we went to work on things, all from the users point of view since that is what we were first–users.

One of the first items we worked to improve was local control and access, and reliable redundancy. All of our equipment is on Canadian soil and we take care of it all ourselves, nothing is outsourced overseas. We currently host in Tier 4 data centers in Vancouver, BC, with a guaranteed uptime of 99.95%.

Having been a leader in the industry for so long, we at hosting.ca have a wide variety of satisfied clients ranging from individuals to small startups to large corporations. Some of our corporate clients include Vancouver Community College, Ronald McDonald House of British Columbia, and Bell Canada.

As we have grown with the acquisitions of three other hosting companies (two in Canada and two in the U. S.), so have our service offerings. Due to their rapid proliferation and use by individuals and companies of all sizes, we now see the need for enterprise-level email services like Hosted Exchange and BlackBerry enterprise services. We are now one of the few Canadian web hosting companies offering these state-of-the-art services to its clients run completely in house and on Canadian soil.

What to Expect at Hosting.ca

If you call us and we don’t answer right away, we highly encourage leaving a voicemail. Voicemails are logged into the system and calls are returned within 1 business hour. Voicemails get linked to your account, so we know all of your voicemail and support history. Since we don’t have realtime voice detection systems, we verify ALL of our customers through tickets. We only discuss ticket details with authorized and registered users on file.

The internet evolves fast and software updates happen almost daily. We can’t guarantee to have the latest documentation at all times, but we definitely have the most important and common tasks someone would need to get up and running. We take requests all of the time, so let us know if we’re missing something. We don’t offer video tutorials or step by step documentation for every single task in the software control panels – frankly, it’s not necessary for you to learn all the features anyways. Your business just needs things to work, and we assist.

Access to your control panel is something that can be done round the clock. This gives you full control over your website and email functionality. On the other hand, our Canadian support staff need sleep, and we don’t open 24 hours a day. Though we do offer a paid priority service that’s available to anyone by calling us after hours if you find the need. We don’t outsource our support, period.

With over 20 years of experience in this support arena, we’ve been encouraging the use of support tickets when customers need help.
